UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
Overview
The Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) is a five-year professional degree that builds from foundational pharmaceutical sciences — pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, and pharmaceutics — into clinical pharmacy practice, therapeutics, and pharmacy law. Aligned with Pharmacy Council of Pakistan and HEC standards, the program includes a structured hospital and community pharmacy internship in its final year, preparing graduates for registration as licensed pharmacists. MUST's pharmacy students work in dedicated pharmaceutics and pharmacology laboratories before rotating through affiliated hospital and community pharmacy placements, giving direct exposure to dispensing, patient counseling, and clinical decision-making. The program's emphasis on rational drug use and patient safety, paired with faculty drawn from both academic and practicing pharmacy backgrounds, prepares graduates for immediate contribution across clinical, community, and industrial pharmacy settings.
